George (she/her) is a theatre maker, director and performer with a background in physical theatre and activism. Her interests are participatory theatre, self-devising methods, site specific performance and artivism. She works with people of all ages, abilities and identities and makes performances with both trained and non-formally trained participants.
She holds a BA in Performing Arts from De Montfort University, UK and studied choreography and performance at the SNDO, Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, NL. Additionally she studied Meisner Acting Technique, Forum Theatre and PhotoVoice.
As an educator, George teaches theatre and composition classes and works as a guest teacher with students at many different colleges and schools. These include the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, Academie voor Theater en Dans in Amsterdam, ArtEZ and International Schools in Amstelveen and Utrecht.
George is a member of the OT301 collective and runs a performance studio on the top floor. She is also a collaborator with HoP, a project initiating participatory practices based in the OT301. Her work with them includes directing/facilitating Forum Theatre pieces.
